Picking A Good Children’s Vanity

Girls vanities can add a lot to a room. They can provide a great deal of functionality by giving purpose to a space and help your daughter learn the importance of storing things in their proper place so that they are easier to retrieve in the future. They can be helpful in curbing messes during dress up, play or daily grooming.

With so many to choose from, what kind of vanity should you buy? We will focus on three different manufacturers and some of their most popular products so that you can get an idea of what is out there, what a good vanity looks like and how much it will ultimately cost you.

The best vanity for your daughter will be the one that suits her needs, interests, tastes and temperament. Still some factors to be considered are materials used, paint resilience and overall durability of the vanity.

How much do vanities cost on average? Quality vanities go for at least one hundred dollars brand new, but price really depends on many things. Age is one such factor. If your daughter is very young, chances are that you can find a good quality vanity for less, since a toddler’s vanity is usually simple and made of durable plastic.

However, if you’re looking for a durable vanity that can be used over many years, it’s a good idea to invest in a product that will be durable and sturdy enough to withstand many years of use and wear.

The Deluxe Vanity by Kidkraft, for example is made of sturdy wood and glass. It has a main vanity mirror, coupled with two adjustable side mirrors for a better angular view. Four storage shelves provide a good amount of storage space for toys, play clothes and more. It’s design is simple enough to be easily implemented into any room and comes in a while finish which is great on it’s own but makes a great base for do-it-yourself color coordination (a great side project for kids) with your daughter’s room or play room. Assembly is required, but instructions are fairly straight forward. Used varieties of this product run for at least a hundred dollars, while newer models retail at just over two hundred.

Another good option is the Bouquet Vanity by Teamson. Simple, yet rich in detail the Bouquet is also a great piece for a little girl’s room. It boasts two drawers, a fold up mirror with indented space for storage just beneath the mirror, a striped pink and white, floral design and a matching stool. It retails for about one hundred and fifty dollars brand new and is recommended for children ages three and up.

Looking for a more dramatic and fun piece? Levels of Discovery children’s furniture offers a great product, the Princess Vanity Table and Chair set. Durable and a customer favorite, this model is beautifully detailed. It boasts two trinket boxes attached directly to the top of the table. One of these doubles as a music box and plays “Pomp and Circumstance” upon use. Both the mirror and chair backing are shaped into a purple heart with a crown on top of it. The chair is cushioned and detailed with the same design as the table. This set is available for two hundred dollars retail.

Best of luck in finding the vanity that is just right for you.
